Okay folks….I am about to present the BEST personality test I’ve ever taken. One of my professor had our whole class take it before dividing us into groups and it was creepy accurate. Here are the instructions:

Last semester, one of my roommates made the most out-of-this-world scones. We were all in heaven until the fried smell of fatty oil was still hanging around our small apartment the next day. Candles and cleaners didn’t seem to do the trick, so I sprinkled a generous amount (several tablespoons) of ground cinnamon (yeah just that “normal kind” you buy and put with sugar on toast or in your oatmeal) on a cookie sheet. Then, I put the cookie sheet in the oven at 325 degrees Fahrenheit until I couldn’t smell the cinnamon anymore (about 15 to 20 minutes). I did this a couple times and my apartment was back to normal….though I was cravin’  homemade cinnamon rolls….

I recommend doing this whenever you have a bad smell in your apartment or right before you have friends over. It’s super easy and cheap and smells soooooo good. I think guys should be required to do this regularly. I mean, their spaces always smell kind of raunchy and it’s not like this is a flowery weird smell or anything. Just a shout out suggestion

Just a few weeks ago I was completely freaking out! As I was taking out my lovely load of white laundry from the washing machine, I realized that one of my darling roommates had left a pen in the washer. One of my favorite pieces of clothing had ink stains all over it. Luckily, after calling trusty rusty Mom, I found out that HAIRSPRAY works wonders with ink stains. If you ever find yourself in a similar predicament, here’s what to do:

1. Generously spray some hairspray on the ink spot.

2. Rub hard until stain disappears.

3. Relax and go eat ice cream for all your hard work.

*You don’t have to buy the most expensive hair spray or anything to get an ink stain out. I bought the cheapest bottle on the shelf and it still worked beautifully.

One of my friends brings this to school all the time and I just thought it was such a fantastic idea!

Basically, all you need to do is buy  box of crunchy granola bars and some individually packaged yogurt. I suggest Nature Valley crunchy granola bars and Yoplait yogurt (I’m kind of a yogurt snob and that’s my favorite but if you have a Super Walmart around, Walmart off-brand yogurt is super cheap and pretty good tasting—less than 50 cents).

Just crumple up the granola bar in the package and pour the contents into your yogurt and you have a delicious mini-meal.

So,  I wrote this on an old blog of mine and I think you’ll appreciate it if you’ve ever gone to BYU or if your LDS (Latter-day Saint aka Mormon)

Dear Diary,

I was on my way to the JFSB across from the JKB, not to be confused with the JSB where I take D & C, to meet by BFF. I was trying to convince her to change to MFHD instead of PDBIO, so she can graduate with her MRS degree instead of a PHD. But, she said she wants her PHD or maybe to become an M.D. to be a DR. Plus, if she really wanted to be an MRS, she would have gone to Rexburg at BYU-I-DO, where it’s a “ring before spring or your money back.”

“True that,” I said, but to get through to her head, I mentioned UVSC, now UVU, or LDS BC in SLC, where unlike at BYU she would actually have time for a little R & R or TLC for her ward’s hott EQP.

“True that,” she said, but I stopped in my stead, ’cause I realized I had to cath the UTA because it was Monday, and gosh golly me…..it’s almost FHE!

Upon arriving home, I wasn’t alone. My roomie was eating ice cream while watching MTV, and I thought, “OMG!” I mean, WWJD? Something was wrong. That filthy media didn’t belong. I told her, “Remember who you are! And CTR!” But, I found out she was grieving the DTR with the VL guy she had met at our ward’s last Munch & Mingle were everyone’s single, AKA “Meet and Greet” or “Linger Longer” or “Chat & Chew” or my personal favorite “Flirt & Feed” where a cute RM is all you need. Because, a boy ain’t a man ’til he comes home from his mission. And, we don’t like boys. We throw rocks at them. But, we like men. They give us rocks. Unless the dude just got home, then leave him alone, because everyone knows, as the saying goes, “Say no to pot. Say no to crack. Say no to the missionary who just got back.”

Speaking of missionaries, at FHE where it was BYOS (which I forgot I confess) our Dad told us endless tales about his 2 years in Wales. He spoke like a Brit…and I wondered, “Was the accent legit?” He’s been back for a year, was he being sincere?

After the stories were done, I left for a DI run. I found a Mo-Tab CD and a Princess Bride DVD. But before I was through, I ran into Sue who I met years ago at EFY who’s now dating the guy that was an RA at DT (may it R.I.P.) who once tried to have a NICMO with me. It had all started, it’s true, when he had asked me, “Is your name Virtue?” I had said no and asked why. He said, “Because you’ve been garnishing my thoughts unceasingly” with a wink of his eye.

And that was my day. Let us give thanks and pray for the flippin’ sweet Happy Valley way (of life)!

So, living with roommates can be MESSY!!! In just about every apartment I’ve lived in our microwave has been a disaster. I don’t know if all college apartments/dorms have “cleaning checks” every so often, but click on the link below for a cheap, easy, fast way to clean your disgusting microwave:

How to Clean Your Microwave with a Lemon

Okay, don’t judge! You can’t even taste the spinach   It just tastes like tropical AMAZINGNESS!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups fresh spinach (with stems and all)

4+ ice cubes

half of a fresh banana

3/4 to 1 cup pineapple juice

Directions:

Mix all ingredients in blender. Enjoy!

*Super healthy and extremely refreshing on a hot day….and CHEAP

Cost Saving Tips:

-Buy a 46 oz can of pineapple juice (I can normally find one between $1 and $2)

-Buy a fresh bunch of spinach and not just the leaves that come in those salad bags.  (approx $1.50)

-These ingredients alone will supply 4+ smoothies.
